It's been a busy couple of weeks, and I am sorry to admit that I haven't been taking photos of our progress, primarily because most of the work is being done inside the administration and custodial building. If all goes well, we'll be moving into the admin building in late June, and work on demolishing the present office as well as the library will start the first week of July. Additionally, the Converged Infrastructure program is in full-swing (allowing for wireless access throughout the school), and workers will begin the renovation of five wings beginning on Monday, June 2. Yesterday, our custodians and other volunteers worked tirelessly to completely clear building G to prepare for the asbestos abatement which is the first step in the renovation process. Hopefully, I'll be better about taking photos!
When the project began, we were Hale Kula Elementary School. On April 19, 2016, the Hawaii Board of Education officially changed our name to Daniel K. Inouye Elementary School after the late US Senator and advocate for Hawaii, our children and the military.

They're painting the administration building. By the end of this week, the windows and doors should be installed. |
This is what the administration building looks like from the road. The roof is just about completed. |
