April 25, 2015

In a little over a month, it'll be summer, and there will be lots happening on campus.  Teachers in the wings that will be renovated have started packing, and those who will be in the new classroom building are deciding what to take and what to purge. Electricians are working after school hours to install ceiling fans in the classrooms.  Portable 8 is gone; it was removed at midnight on Thursday, and soon, Portables 7 and 6 will follow.  Floor tiles are being installed on the first floor, and landscapers are preparing to plant grass in the back of the classroom building.  And work continues on the library media/student center and the special education classroom and covered playcourt. The progress is amazing!

The rubberized tiles are completely installed in two of the rooms on the bottom floor.  There are movable walls between the classrooms as well as by the entry out to the learning hub.  The rooms were designed to be flexible to encourage 21st century learning - collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creating.  There will also be lots of opportunity for students to use technology to explore, discover, create, and share.

P8 was the first portable to be removed.  P7 and P6 will be removed by the first week of May.

We are waiting for the portables to be removed so workers can find the manhole and connect the sewer line to this classroom at the end of J-building.

Last week, this area was hard and full of weeds.  Very shortly, landscapers will be planting the grass.
